We're more than happy about the nice feedback we keep getting relating the 'Top 100 links for web designers' page we posted a while ago.

Needless to say, thanks to all of you who dropped us a line suggesting some other cool sites. We went through all of them and chose the ones we thought more useful.

We've finally updated the page and added some of your suggestions as well as some other nice links we've encountered along the way. So go ahead, check them out and don't forget to post a comment... de-lurking time's officially over!

Unnecesary reference lines?

And yet another bug fixed... up until today pages in which the Inserit components had been deleted but that still kept the necessary reference lines used to send petitions every time the page was loaded. That obviously made no sense since there was "nothing to be called".

We just got that issue straightened out it so that only those pages with Inserit components make the necessary petitions thus improving the site's performance.

If this may be your case and want to profit from these changes, simply access your account, click on Downloads on the left-side menu and then on Download Inserit. Once you're done publish it through your FTP client and you'll be all set to go!

UTF-8 compatible... for good.

Some of you reported not being able to display Eastern characters in your blogs -- we finally nailed the source of all problems. Here it is:

Even though all of our pages include the following code to ensure all Eastern characters as well as accents are correctly displayed

< meta content="text/html; charset=utf-8" http-equiv="Content-Type" / >

it turns out some servers ignore this line and so all Eastern characters and accents look messed up. If this is your case, all you have to do is simply include the folowing line at the top of the page

< ?php header('Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8'); ?>

Santa's little crash

As some of you may have noticed, we had to close temporarily both our registration page and blog addresses. This was due to some major reasons, mainly:

Server migration: Due to the high number of registered users and visitors we were getting, we thought it was about time to migrate to a dedicated, more powerful, ultimate state-of-the-art drop-dead server... and so we did.

New release of our forever-free Blog module: Yes, you read it right. We've been working our bones off to create an extremely intuitive blog module while keeping a nice look and feel to it. If you can't stand it anymore, click here to sign up and start using it right away. Else, check its super cool features here. Amongst others, you'll be able to moderate comments, upload images together with your posts, set an RSS feed, arrange your posts into monthly archives... plus many other nice features.

Other minor reasons that have made the whole process a little bit slower than it should have include an eggnog-induced mind blockage of our programmers as well as a temporary state of doziness of our web designers due to an overstuffing of Christmas cookies. We are terribly sorry about the latter.
